Tumalo Cascade Equine Center is located in Tumalo, Oregon, just north of Bend and south of Sisters (25 min. drive from the Redmond airport) We are located on the East side of the Cascade mountains and our facilities look out West toward the towering and majestic peaks of the Sisters and Mount Bachelor. When you visit Central Oregon, you can count on our high desert environment of sunshine and low humidity. With sunny days and cool nights you will enjoy great weather year round for a wide variety of equine activities.

   My name is Michelle and I welcome you to try the Tumalo Cascade Equine experience. I relocated from Colorado in 2006 and established Tumalo Cascade Equine Center and Performance Horses. This wonderful new facility specializes in training Appaloosas, Arabians, Half-Arabians and their riders.

   I have a Bachelor's degree in Biology, and an Associate's degree in Equine Studies. I also have 10 years experience as a Veterinarian Assistant. I  have trained and shown Appaloosas at the National and World level for the last 14 years. I have also worked with the JWRA (Japan Western Riding Association) training and judging equestrian events in Japan.

   WE OFFER MUCH MORE THAN THE BASICS IN HORSEMANSHIP TRAINING. At Tumalo Cascade we teach skills that will allow you to effectively communicate with your horse. In addition we will teach you proper equine nutrition, grooming and health maintenance requirements for your horse. We will also prepare you and your horse for all that is necessary for competition in the show arena against other top quality competitors at the Regional, National and World levels.

   For those that just want to enjoy an introductory equine experience or refine their skills we offer a variety of clinics throughout the year as well as summer youth camps (age 8-18) and weekly equine vacation packages that include basic and advanced training and a variety of trail rides into the beautiful cascade mountains that surround our facility.

   At Tumalo Cascade, we try to emphasize riding as well as help individuals build life long friendships, understand team work and develop a wide variety of skills that will help them to handle horses, plus skills that are applicable to life "outside the barn".
