What are the best times that you can remember with Tumalo: My very first show with Doc Otis. The clinics that Michelle has are very fun.
What do you look forward to in the year 2008 show season: I am excited about learning more about my horse and how to do better.
How did you feel the first time you won your first blue ribbon: I was excited to get any ribbon
Why did you choose Tumalo Cascade: Because the barn is a great place to hang out and Michelle is very helpful and fun.
Parent Testimonial: Elissa is almost 13 and has always loved horses and in California before we moved up to OR she took weekly English riding lessons. When we moved here in the summer of 2006, we looked around for a good fit with a trainer and a barn. We heard about a new equestrian center just getting established in the area and went to see Tumalo Cascade. We were very impressed with the facility and everything that Michelle said about her beliefs in training horses and kids. Elissa leased a horse at Tumalo and began training for Western and trail as well as English. Next thing we knew Elissa was starting to show horses and having a fantastic time. I have been very impressed by how Elissa has showed dedication and hard work in training for the shows and doing what she needs to do to learn about horses. It has taken up a lot of her time but she is happy doing it. She now has a 6 year old Appaloosa gelding of her own who she loves. She is working at the barn cleaning stalls and doing whatever needs doing to help pay for clinics and lessons. I think this is going to help her throughout her life as she has learned that you feel a lot of satisfaction in working hard at something you love. One fun thing that came out of the horse shows in addition to the fun of winning ribbons is that Elissa was elected Queen for 2008 for the Oregon Trail Appaloosa horse club so she will have the opportunity to tell others about Appaloosas.
